So fawns can’t run fast, so what happens when the doe gets spooked is the doe bolts and the babies learn to drop and freeze as low to the ground as possible. In tall grass, this makes sense right? Cause they’d basically disappear but sometimes they do it on roads.
I hope you took those poor and helpless babies and helped them, and not just left them alone in the forest as food for animals such as wolves, bears and foxes. Be grateful to the poor and devoted animals who give us food and free aid. I wonder what you did with those baby gazelles?
Baby deer stay where their mother puts them until she returns, they won’t move even when approached. She may be leading a predator away. And when it’s not hunting season she feels free to leave them near roads plus she gets to know the locals who hunts and who doesn’t they’re always crossing territories.
